Palmento Costanzo
The Palmento Costanzo estate is located in the town of Contrada Santo Spirito, Passopisciaro on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Sicily.
Founded by husband and wife Mimmo and Valeria Costanzo in 2011, the name “Palmento” derives from the 19th century palmento grape stone press which they have painstakingly restored.
Ten hectares of terraced vineyards with nutrient-rich, brown volcanic sands grow at elevations ranging from 680 to 800 metres.
Vines vary in age from 5-30 years old for the fresher, younger Mofete range up to 120 years for the pre-phylloxera vines, and farming is carried out organically
