100% Sagrantino grapes. Fermentation on skins at controlled temperatures, one part for a day, another part for approximately two weeks.
12 months ageing in large oak barrels.
Beautiful ruby red colour with hints of garnet. Intense and fruity bouquet with hints of woodland groundcover. Tannin-velvety and intense, persistent, fruity taste.
This is a slightly more modern style of Sagrantino.
It's perfect with red meat, game, pasta with meat sauce and truffle, mature cheeses.
Can be cellared for many years.

The Di Filippo winery is situated in Cannara (Perugia) with 30 hectares of vineyards, overlooking Assisi, resting on sun-drenched hills between Torgiano and Montefalco, in the heart of Umbria.
Di Filippo believes that high-quality grapes can only be produced by working with care and by showing respect for the principles and rhythms of nature. The grapes are cultivated strictly following certified organic and biodynamic methods, without the use of fungicides, herbicides, or other chemical compounds. These natural methods help the land to give its best, resulting in lower production yields per hectare and exceptional, characteristic wines.
