Rocca del Principe
Rocca del Principe is located in Lapio, a small town in the green hills of Irpinia, Campania considered the very heartland of Fiano di Avellino. The territory is particularly suited to the cultivation of Fiano due to the favourable climate with the presence of the Picentini mountains: one of its peaks, Tuoro mountain (1400m) near Lapio, works as a heat-regulator.
The winery was established in 2004, by Ercole Zarrella, his wife Aurelia Fabrizio, and his brother Antonio. The Estate has approximately 10 hectares of land. Its colder climate, late harvests, and pumice-rich volcanic soils make it one of the areas, which are most suited to growing Fiano grapes.
All farming is carried out to obtain a low quantity per hectare, with absolute respect for the environment.
